A 2005 Recycling Market Development Grant from the Ohio Division of Recycling & Litter Prevention will allow Advanced Fiber Technologies, Bucyrus, Ohio, to hire 30 new employees
The firm plans to use its $100,000 grant toward the purchase of equipment needed to set up another line for producing thermally bonded acoustic boards.
The new line will allow Advance Fiber to use an additional 3,000 tons of recycled newspaper each year. The company will match the grant with at least $100,000 of its own money.
Advanced Fiber was one of five northern Ohio firms splitting $675,000 in recycling market development grants from the state in 2005, part of the statewide total of $2.275 million in grants. More than $12.8 million in grants have been distributed to Ohio companies to expand their use of recycled materials since the grant program began in 1994.
