A Recycling Professional Certification course is being offered by two Pennsylvania organizations July 25 in Erie, Pa.
The Pennsylvania Recycling Professional Certification Training Program provides continuing education units (CEUs) to those attending the half-day class, which focuses on the public speaking portion of recycling education programs.
The program, developed by the Professional Recyclers of Pennsylvania (PROP) and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), is designed to “provide attendees with tools to develop a well-organized, thoughtful educational program that considers different cultures, socio-economic factors, and educational levels of the people in their municipalities when considering their design of a recycling educational program.”
According to promotional literature for the event, instructors will be drawn from the DEP while others will include “some of Pennsylvania’s most outstanding recycling program directors.”
The Penn State-Erie campus and the Penn State Altoona School of Science and Engineering and Technology are acting as hosts for the event.
Those seeking more information on the class can contact PROP certification program director Bonnie Hansell at (814) 742-7777 or via e-mail at prop@epix.net.
