Parrot Cellular, a Cingular Wireless agent with more than 85 retail outlets in Northern California, has announced that it will partner with RecycleForUS.com to collect used call phones at all of its locations.
RecycleForUS.com is an industry-funded nationwide initiative. The organization will return funds generated from the sale of handsets that still have remarketable value to Parrot Cellular, which has committed to donating a portion of the funds to support local elementary schools. Phones that cannot be remarketed will be donated to the 911 Cell Phone Bank, which provides emergency cell phones to the elderly and abuse victims or recycled.
