GBUSA Inc. has established a program with RecycleBank to bring the unique services to residents in Union County, N.C., and Sun City, S.C. RecycleBank also operates in 22 states, as well as the United Kingdom.
GBUSA Inc. is the only hauler to offer the program in North and South Carolina.
"With this new recycling program, residents will be able to meet recently passed laws requiring that plastics and aluminum be recycled," Erik Blowers, founder and president of God Bless the USA Inc. founder and president, said.
Through GBUSA, customers are offered single-stream recycling. After recyclables are picked up, they are sorted at the Sonoco’s MRF in Charlotte, N.C.
"The average RecycleBank household finds they can recycle at least 50-percent of their waste each week, easily filling a 65-gallon recycling cart," Blowers said. "Single-stream recycling with rewards from RecycleBank is a win-win-win situation--residents win because this is a great solution to the new recycling laws and because they're rewarded for their recycling efforts, local businesses win with an increase in customers redeeming their unique rewards, and the environment wins because the more households recycle, the less waste ends up in the landfill."
The program in the two countries begins Nov. 16, 2009.
