The city of Derby, Kansas has announced that the city, RecycleBank and Waste Connections Inc. have joined together to offer RecycleBank to residents of the city. In July, the Derby City Council approved a contract with Waste Connections to provide franchised trash and recycling services for the city. Following that contract, starting in December, the curbside program will be enhanced with RecycleBank’s rewards for recycling program.
RecycleBank services more than one million people across 24 states. By cumulative recycling efforts, those households have recycled more than 315,000 tons of material, saving more than 210 million gallons of oil and 3.1 million trees. For more information on RecycleBank, visit www.RecycleBank.com.
New trash service and the new rewards-for-recycling program begins Dec. 1, 2009.
