Memphis, Tenn.-based Recycle Solutions says it has expanded its services to provide manufacturers and distributors more options to focus on the “reuse” aspect of their “reduce, recycle, and reuse” initiatives.
The company has opened a new 25,000-square-foot processing center in Searcy, Ark., where 12 employees receive packaging scrap, sort it, clean it and send reusable components back to their customers for reuse. “This service will provide companies in the Mid-South, the nation’s logistics hub, a cost-effective closed-loop process with one provider,” says Recycle Solutions.
According to a release, the service is designed to appeal to customers who design and purchase custom packaging to safely ship their products. Once the items arrive at their clients’ destinations, the packaging materials are either recycled as commodities or thrown. Recycle Solutions is providing a way for businesses to reuse the packaging.
Among the packaging components that Recycle Solutions will harvest and resell are pallets, end boards, tags, plastic sleeve plugs, wood core plugs, H and U channels and clips. Many of these are products are used when packaging components or electronic equipment.
Recycle Solutions says the new service joins its other offerings of industrial recycling, organic waste recycling and secure destruction.
The company says it provides waste optimization and secure destruction programs, specializing in recycling programs for mid- and large-size clients.
