Belgium-based RecyClass’ Recycling Process Certification has become the leading certification for plastics traceability and now covers 60 percent of installed plastics recycling capacity in Europe.
In 2024, the proportion of installed recycling capacity certified by RecyClass at the stream level reached 58 percent for high-density polyethylene/polypropylene, 62 percent for end-of-life vehicle/waste from electrical and electronic equipment, 70 percent for linear low-density polyethylene and 75 percent for polyethylene terephthalate.
“The continued growth of this certification scheme is a clear indicator that RecyClass’ efforts to drive plastics circularity are delivering real impact,” RecyClass Chairman Paolo Glerean. “RecyClass Recycling Process Certification has become the benchmark for companies seeking to certify their recycling processes and comply with the EN 15343:2007 standard.”
RecyClass now collaborates with seven recognized and 11 accredited third-party certification bodies, with more than 120 auditors available to issue recycling process certificates.
