Reconomy, a United Kingdom-based outsourced waste management and recycling services firm, has acquired resource management consultancy Helistrat.
Based in Portsmouth, U.K., Helistrat offers waste management and resource strategies to clients in several business sectors. The company’s methods align with Reconomy’s strategy of prioritizing tech-enablement to deliver more detailed waste data to clients, faster turnaround of information and improved accuracies relating to service fulfillment, according to Reconomy.
“This is an important step for Reconomy, enabling us to extend our sustainability and waste management offering into a broader range of clients and commercial sectors,” says Paul Cox, Reconomy CEO.
“Everyone at Helistrat shares our vision of bringing about change to the waste industry by introducing new technologies that will make the process of dealing with waste far easier and more transparent for our clients,” he adds.
This latest acquisition by Reconomy follows that of U.K. waste brokerage business Waste Check earlier in 2018. Other Reconomy acquisitions include Cory Environmental’s waste brokerage businesses in 2016 and Countrywide Waste Management Ltd. and Network Waste in 2015. All of those companies were based in the U.K.
“Despite Reconomy’s continued expansion, we place significant emphasis on customer satisfaction and are committed to ensuring we exceed our clients’ [key performance indicators] and time frames wherever possible,” says Cox. “Last year, we managed an average of 90,000 waste movements each month, an exceptional 98.9 percent of which were completed to our clients’ satisfaction."
