ReCellular Inc., which bills itself as the world's foremost collector, reseller and recycler of used wireless phones and accessories, has announced the opening of a new cell phone refurbishing facility at 1001 NE Loop 820 in Fort Worth. The new 50,000-square-foot facility, in addition to featuring a broad range of new and advanced refurbishing and repair services for wireless carriers and handset manufacturers, will also bring roughly 150 new jobs to the Fort Worth area.
ReCellular, based in Dexter, Mich., reconditions, resells and recycles millions of wireless handsets and other consumer electronics products each year. Most of the products ReCellular receives are donated through recycling programs conducted by non-profit organizations, employers and wireless service providers. Refurbished phones are eventually sold in areas of the world where new phones are cost-prohibitive for many people; proceeds are shared with the donating organization or its designee.
ReCellular's new Ft. Worth facility will offer a broad range of advanced
refurbishing capabilities including painting, programming and flashing, as
well as contract repairs on all makes of cellular handsets. The plant will
offer improved turnaround time for cell phone servicing and shorter processing
schedules for refurbished wireless devices resold in the U.S. and abroad, according to a press release issued by ReCellular.
"ReCellular is pleased to be able to join the Ft. Worth business community
and leverage its exceptional base of high-quality employees through our new
state-of-the-art refurbishing and repair facility," Charles Newman,
president of ReCellular Inc., says. "This plant, which compliments the continuous growth taking place at our Michigan headquarters, allows us to provide a combination of support services that is unique in the industry. We look forward to the opportunities this facility will provide for us and our
customers."
Able to refurbish and/or repair an expected 45,000 to 50,000 phones per
month, the new facility will significantly add to ReCellular's wireless
handset processing capability. Among the other services offered, the plant
will feature a state-of-the-art painting and plastics reconditioning system
for recovery of used cell phone housings.
ReCellular's Fort Worth operation is expected to employ nearly 150 people
within the next four months. Of those jobs, at least 40 are expected to be
technical positions. Qualified applicants should respond in writing only to
