Resource Conversion Systems Inc. (RCS), Houston, has acquired Granville Composite Products Corp., a Canadian consumer of recycled plastics.
Granville, based in Dorval, Quebec, uses scrap automobile bumpers, gasoline tanks, trunk liners, bottle caps, densified plastic film and plastic pallets in a compression molding process to make pallets, container lids, structural supports and other objects.
The company’s pallets, which sell for less than $20, are made from 100% recycled materials, including both natural and synthetic fibers.
RCS provides consulting services and offers an air classification system known as LoVAC that separates mixed paper and plastic film from the municipal solid waste stream.
Combining the companies will help ensure a market for plastic reclaimed by users of the LoVAC process.
