Sweden-based holding company Lifco has signed an agreement to acquire Rapid Granulator, a manufacturer of granulators for in-plant recycling of plastic scrap that also is based in Sweden. Lifco says the acquisition will not have any significant effect on its earnings or financial position in the current financial year.
In 2014 Rapid Granulator reported net sales of about $35.6 million. The newly acquired group will be consolidated into Lifco’s Environmental Technology division and become a part of the Systems Solution business area. That division includes Denmark-based Eldan Recycling A/S, which supplies recycling machinery for processing of tires, cables, electronic scrap, refrigerators, aluminum, municipal solid waste, magnesium and various scrap types; and Sweden-based Eleiko, which develops and constructs products for waste handling systems and bin cleaning systems.
Rapid Granulator was established 1942 and manufactures most of its equipment at its Bredaryd, Sweden, facility. The company also has subsidiaries in the United States, Germany, France, Italy, Singapore, China and the Middle East.
Lifco acquires and develops what it calls niched operations with the potential to deliver sustainable profit growth and strong cash flows. The group has three business areas: dental; demolition and tools; and systems solutions.
