Ralph Simon, who has held a variety of senior management positions with various companies in the paper industry, has announced his retirement.
Simon has spent the last 23 years with Atlanta-based newsprint manufacturer SP Newsprint and SP Recycling, the company’s recycling division, which has dozens of facilities throughout the United States.
Simon began his pulp and paper career in 1967. He has held various senior management positions, including international sales and marketing posts, with four different paper companies.
In addition to holding a top management position with SP Newsprint and SP Recycling, Simon has been active in several trade associations involved in the paper and recycling industry, including taking the lead on the Paper Stock Industries (PSI) Chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) Specifications Committee for 12 years.
Simon was honored by ISRI and PSI with the Phil Albert Award in 2007 for his leadership, dedication and commitment to the association.
He has spoken at numerous industry forums and is best known as an advocate for paper stock quality.
