Recycle America Alliance LLC, a subsidiary of Waste Management, announced plans to acquire Quality Papers Inc., headquartered in Santa Clarita, Calif., with additional operations in three other California cities: Pico Rivera, Los Angeles and Carson.
According to local press reports RAA expects to spend an additional $12 to improve the facilities. Quality Papers processes around 150 tons of paper, glass and plastics a day. The deal is expected to close by the end of this year.
``We are committed to helping our municipal customers meet and exceed their state-mandated recycling goals and feel that the Quality Paper facilities will make an excellent addition to our existing recycling collection, processing and glass processing infrastructure in Southern California,'' said Dan Shoener, vice president of Waste Management.
