The city of Quito, Ecuador, the capital of that nation, is seeking ideas to bolster its collection of recyclable items in the city.
According to an online article from the Quito-based El Comercio, the city’s “Reinventa y Recicla” program is attempting to “involve citizens with proposals that improve the recycling process.”
A website for the program has been established that will accept applications through April 5, 2018.
The El Comercio description of potential ideas includes those that “contribute to recycling” and demonstrate “creativity, feasibility, functionality and the ability to be applied.”
Reinventa y Recicla winners are eligible for a $5,000 grant to help execute the plan. Further, “If the pilot is viable and works, the [Quito] Ministry of the Environment will grant [an] official certification” so the project can continue, according to the report.
