Quincy Recycle, headquartered in Quincy, Ill., has relocated its recycling plant in its Marion, Ind., to a larger facility in New Haven, Ind.
The new location is near Fort Wayne, the second most populous city in Indiana, he says.
Tim Bliefnick, plant manager at Quincy’s New Haven facility, says the company had outgrown its Marion plant and sought a location close to a larger metropolitan area. “We needed to move to a larger facility in a larger city.” Bliefnick adds that in addition to being proximal to a large city, the new building features high ceilings and is close to the highway.
The company has purchased two balers for the facility from manufactures Excel Manufacturing, St. Charles, Minn., and IPS Baler, Baxley, Ga. Along with the balers, the facility will include a grinder for its book and product destruction business and a truck scale.
In the meantime, Bliefnick says the company is digging pits for the balers and undertaking a number of other construction-related tasks to ensure the plant can effectively and efficiently handle incoming material coming.
In addition to the new facility in New Haven, Quincy Recycle operates facilities in the Illinois cities of Quincy and Alsip. The company closed its Marion plant at the end of July.
Quincy Recycle handles all grades of recovered fiber and also recycles plastics and metals.
