Quincy Recycle, headquartered in Illinois, has announced it is expanding its Midwest footprint by opening a new recycling facility in Indianapolis.
According to a company news release, the new facility will serve a growing number of manufacturing clients in parts of Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky.
Building and equipment installation began in October when Quincy Recycle purchased the property on the east side of Indianapolis. Production is expected to begin by the end of December, the company reports.
“We are excited to be opening our seventh Quincy Recycle facility in Indianapolis not only for the extended geographic reach and growth opportunities it presents for our business, but also because it is a direct result of opportunities created by the drive and ambition of existing QRP team members in New Haven, Indiana,” VP of Finance and Administration Philip Hildebrand Jr. says in a news release.
About 130 miles south of the New Haven plant, the Indianapolis facility is in the northeast corner of Indiana and is equipped with rail access, providing opportunities to sell commodities in U.S. markets and Mexico. The facility will operate in the fiber and plastic commodity markets.
According to the company, more than $2.5 million is being invested in the property and equipment at the facility, including two separate industrial balers with related feed conveyors, a dual shaft shredder with ancillary components, various pieces of rolling stock and other material handling equipment.
