QRS Recycling, Louisville, Kentucky, has announced plans to redirect all commercial and residential single-stream, cardboard and paper processing from its New Albany, Indiana, plant to its Louisville facility. The company says it expects to complete the consolidation and enhancements to the Kentucky plant by May 4, 2015.
The company says it will wind down its paper and plastics operations in New Albany. The majority of QRS employees from the New Albany facility have been offered the opportunity to relocate to one of the company’s other facilities.
QRS Iron and Metals operations will not be affected by the transition and will continue to operate out of the company’s New Albany facility, the company says.
QRS has announced that as of March 28, 2015, all paper products (cardboard, office paper, high-grade paper) currently being delivered to the New Albany facility will transition to the Louisville facility. Effective April 24, 2015, all single-stream material will transition to the Louisville facility.
The company says it will continue to operate its plastics recycling facilities in Atlanta, Baltimore and St. Louis.
