PureCycle Technologies Inc., Orlando, Florida, has announced that Golden Link North America, which develops custom concessions and in-theater exclusive promotions, is using Churchill Container’s Run It Back line of cups made from PureCycle’s PureFive resin to introduce recycled plastic into their licensed souvenir cups for an undisclosed film now playing in theaters.

PureCycle says Golden Link is the first movie theater concessions company to introduce the Run It Back line of cups manufactured by Lenexa, Kansas-based Churchill Container.

“We’re proud to offer the first-of-its-kind Run It Back line of cups to moviegoers and collectors who will be sure to put them on display,” Golden Link President Jeff Waaland says. “But, should they ever decide to retire the cup from their home collection, it’s rewarding to know they can be recycled at home or in the theater.”

PureCycle CEO Dustin Olson says his company is excited to see the cups, made with recycled polypropylene (PP), used in conjunction with a large film release.

“It’s great that our partnership with Churchill Container is expanding to bring sustainability-minded companies applications produced with our PureFive resin,” he says.

Churchill Contain Product Director Erik Johnson says that since its partnership with PureCycle began, the company has endeavored to expand the reach of recycled content into a wider array of markets, including movie theaters.

“Through this collaboration with Golden Link, we’re working to bring audiences high-quality souvenir cups made from the latest in polypropylene recycling technology at PureCycle,” Johnson says.
