PSI Schedules June Meetings

The Paper Stock Industries (PSI) chapter of the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc. (ISRI) will be conducting several meetings in conjunction with the Paper Recycling Conference & Trade Show, which takes place in New Orleans June 23-25.

On Sunday, June 23, the Standards and Practices and Government Affairs committees will meet at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Following those two meetings, PSI will hold a general meeting from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., also at the Hyatt Regency. And from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30, PSI will sponsor a cocktail party with a cash bar and a Dixieland band.

PSI’s Standards and Practices Committee will present its mid-2002 report at its meeting. All member companies are invited to attend, according to committee chair Ralph Simon of SP Recycling. Several PSI member companies have representatives serving on the permanent 2002 committee, including Allan Co., Baldwin Park, Calif.; Fox River Fiber Co., DePere, Wisc.; Gary Grossman Recycling/Cincinnati; Newstech Recycling LP, Coquitlam, B.C., Canada; Peltz Group, Milwaukee; Recycled Fibers, Newark, N.J.; Swirsky Enterprises, Woodbridge, Conn.; Texas Recycling /Surplus Inc., Dallas; Tri-R Recycling, Denver; United Paper Stock Co., Pawtucket, R.I.; Western Pacific Pulp and Paper, Downey, Calif; and Weyerhaeuser Recycling, Tacoma, Wash.The committee oversees the information and paper stock grade descriptions as published in ISRI’s Scrap Specification Circular. The current PS-01Circular is being updated and republished later this summer.

PSI is a co-sponsor of the Paper Recycling Conference & Trade Show, organized by the Recycling Today Media Group, Cleveland.
