PSC Metals, Inc. has announced plans to install a "mega" shredder at a new location in Knoxville.
Customers will benefit immediately, once the new shredder goes on line later this year, according to Tom McKelvy, PSC Metals’ GM. The company is considering several sites in Knoxville and will announce its final decision soon.
The new "mega" shredder will also provide environmental benefits, McKelvy said, because it will replace a shredder that has been in operation since 1973. The company also said the new shredder would reduce traffic back-ups at PSC’s current shredder.
In 2005 PSC Metals purchased Knoxville Recycling Co. in South Knoxville. PSC Metals has been in Knoxville for a number of years.
