PSC Metals plans to develop a greenfield operation in Rome, Ga., to act as feeder yard.
PSC Metals, Inc. has announced plans to develop and build a scrap feeder yard in Rome, Ga. The facility will support its Chattanooga, Tenn., shredding operation.
The facility is expected to be operational later this year. It will be five acres.
David Kerfeld, GM of PSC’s Chattanooga operations, said: "The location of this new Rome facility will ideally position us as we continue to grow our market share in the Southeast."
PSC already has acquired the ferrous and non-ferrous assets of Ravenna Salvage in Akron and Barberton, Ohio. The company also purchased the assets of Midwest Sales, LLC, a six-acre ferrous and non-ferrous scrap feeder yard in Cuba, Missouri last month. The site now supports PSC Metals’ shredding operation in St. Louis.
