Unisphere Waste Conversion Ltd. announced that the Province of New Brunswick has agreed to provide the company with a $6.5 million loan guarantee subject to certain conditions, for Unisphere's first recyclable Carbon Black Production project to be located in the province. The project is slated to be operational by the middle of next year. The company is presently doing preliminary work on the facility while it is seeking to complete its financing.
Assuming all the financing is in place, the funds will be used by Unisphere to construct its first Tire Derived Products facility in the Port of Belledune, New Brunswick.
The Greenfield facility will be producing around 100 tons per day initially. The material used by the plant will initially come from Crumb Technologies, a Quebec operation. The end product will go toward non-tire automotive parts.
The company will award a contract for the complete facility to Metso Minerals Canada Inc. on an Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management basis including an agreement whereby Metso Minerals will grant Unisphere limited territorial rights to Metso Minerals patented Tire Pyrolysis System for the United States and Canada.
The Unisphere TDP System is a closed loop system combining Unisphere's tire shredding equipment and Metso Minerals patented rotary kiln tire pyrolysis technology. The plant also includes Metso Minerals proprietary oil condensing system that produces marine diesel, off road diesel and burner fuel and a carbon black grinding and pelletizing facility.
