Proposed Concrete Plant Gets Green Light in Wis.

Lycon Inc. granted zoning change for site in Oregon, Wis.

Lycon Inc., a Janesville, Wis.-based provider of concrete and aggregate materials, has received approval from a village board to build a plant in Oregon, Wis., according to a report in the Janesville Gazette (Janesville, Wis.).

The village board voted unanimously in May in favor of zoning changes that would allow the company to build a facility in the Oregon Business Park, which would be its 16th plant in southern Wisconsin, according to the report.

G.R. Lyons III, the company’s vice president of operations, tells the Gazette that Lycon wanted the Oregon site because of its proximity to convenient rail service. “We’re excited about the opportunity to do more business by rail, which takes trucks off the road,” Lyons tells the Gazette.
