Prowell, a subsidiary of Germany-based Progroup AG, has announced plans to build a new corrugated board plant in Eisfeld, Germany. When operational, the plant will be the 11th corrugated board plant for Progroup.
The new production facility will have an annual capacity of 140,000 metric tons of corrugated board, which will increase Progroup’s total capacity to 1.5 million metric tons per year. The investment on the project is expected to be around €50 million ($58.4 million).
Production at the new mill is expected to start by the fourth quarter of 2019.
“Our plants, which are optimized for Industry 4.0, follow the approach of production lines which in automatic mode operate optimally largely on their own and report any deficiencies in production and the plant autonomously,” states Jürgen Heindl, CEO and board chair of Progroup AG.
In March 2018, Progroup announced its intention to build a recycled-content paperboard mill near Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
