The 2008 version of the European Paper Recycling Conference is approaching soon, taking place Oct. 6-7 at the Marriott Amsterdam hotel.
Buyers and sellers of recovered fiber will have the chance to hear presentations from respected voices of the industry as well as take advantage of networking opportunities in between and after sessions that will allow attendees to forge new business opportunities and alliances.
Session topics and moderators include:
· “The Future of Collection,” moderated by Dominque Maguin of La Compagnie des Matieres Premieres, who is also a veteran Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) officer. The session reviews trends in the methods being used to collect recovered fibre in Europe.
· “The Paper Economy,” moderated by David Clapp of RISI. This session offers a macro-economic examination of trends affecting the global paper manufacturing industry.
· “The Impact of Logistics,” moderated by Mr. Ranjit Baxi of J&H Sales International Ltd. Baxi, another BIR officer, hosts a session looking at freight rate increases, container availability and other transportation issues.
· “Industry Consolidation” is the title of a session examining the consolidation of the major consumers, generators/collectors and brokerage houses.
· CEPI is sponsoring a session entitled “Paper Industry Trends,” that takes a look at how conditions in the paper manufacturing sector are affecting the recovery market and future industry demands.
· The conference’s final session, moderated by Wade Schuetzeberg of ACN Europe, considers some of the evolving collection and recovered fibre consumption markets that have quietly developed throughout the world.
