The organizers of the Spain-based PRIMUS project are hosting an event in Brussels to bring together industry stakeholders to present the results of that project and explore synergies with similar initiatives.

PRIMUS project backers include the Mondragon Corp., a co-operative firm based in the Basque region of Spain.

Mondragon and other PRIMUS supporters describe the initiative as “reforming secondary plastics to become the primary raw material of choice for value-added products.”

Topics of sessions at the March 20 event at The Mix Hotel in Brussels include a presentation of PRIMUS project objectives, methodologies and achievements and discussions on plastic recycling barriers related to the presence of brominated flame retardants.

Also under discussion include recent technical advancements in recycled materials for the automotive and appliance sectors, regulatory recommendations and digital tools for stakeholder engagement and insights on life cycle analysis and the Plastics Recyclers Europe PRE-1000 tool.

Speakers and panelists at the event have been drawn from PRE and other recycling organizations and the academic community.

Those interested in registering can gain access to an event registration form.
