Presentations Sought

Requests for presentations for conferences are made.

Two groups, one a regional recycling organization, the other an international recycling group, have made a call for submissions for their upcoming shows.

The first conference, scheduled for Feb. 7-9 in Nashville, is a joint Southeast Regional Conference sponsored by the Southeast Recycling Development Council and the Tennessee Recycling Coalition.

Presentation topics could include, but are not limited to the following:

Interested parties are asked to include (1) a Title, (2) a 2-3 paragraph description, (3) the format: i.e. panel, individual speaker, roundtable & session, workshop, or other, (4) speaker/moderator names and/or suggestions with contact info., and (5) your name, organization, e mail and phone number.

The other conference that is seeking submissions is for the Seventh International Automobile Recycling Conference, March 21-23 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

The congress will bring together the various links in the end-of-life vehicle recycling chain such as car manufacturers, metal and plastic scrap traders, recyclers, shredder operators and policy-makers from around the world.

Sessions will focus on: impact of the raising scrap prices to the industry, worldwide country reports on recycling activities, how car manufacturers and the industry close the recycling loop, new plants and recycling technologies.

The congress will also include a networking dinner, a "meet your consumers and clients night" and a cocktail reception in the exhibition hall on the second day. On the third day the organizer is offering various visits, such as recycling facilities, an international metal company and to a modern incineration plant.

The deadline to submit a paper for consideration is Oct. 6, 2006.
