The McLean, Virginia-based Paper and Packaging Board (P+PB) has added five board members appointed to the group’s panel of directors by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Secretary Tom Vilsack.
Appointed for three-year terms are Steve Henry of Fort Mill, South Carolina-based Domtar, Brandon Bennett of Atlanta-based Georgia-Pacific and Erin Raccah of Memphis, Tennessee-based Sylvamo.
Appointed for a two-year term is Anne Ayer of Boston-based Sappi North America, which is part of South Africa-based Sappi Global. Appointed for a one-year term is Richard Bennett, who works from Memphis for Brazil-based Suzano Packaging. Their terms begin Jan. 1, 2025.
The P+PB has an eight-member board of directors that represents a spectrum of paper and board grades. The organization and its board funds and supervises the Paper & Packaging – How Life Unfolds campaign, a national promotion program focused on sustainability.
The campaign, which prominently features recycling and recyclability as positive attributes of paper and board, currently is funded collectively by more than 40 manufacturers and importers operating in the U.S.
The full roster of P+PB board members for 2025 includes Board Chair Henry, Vice Chair Santiago Arbelaez of Memphis-based International Paper, Secretary/Treasurer Richard Bennett of Suzano Packaging, Anne Ayer of Sappi, Bennett of Georgia-Pacific, An Boon of Michigan-based Graphic Packaging International, Juan Pablo Perez Chavez, who works from Atlanta for Ireland-based Smurfit Westrock, and Raccah.
