At its Dec. 15th meeting the Port Commission of The Port of Houston Authority approved the awarding of a contract to Republic Services/BFI to provide trash disposal and recycling services to three terminals.
The terminals to be included are: Turning Basin, Barbours Cut and Woodhouse terminals. Additionally, the contract, slated to begin Jan. 1, 2010 and run for two years, will include the port’s Fireboat barracks.
The value of the contract is expected to be around $2.2 million.
