The newly formed Poly Coated Paper Alliance (PCPA), an industry stakeholder collaboration managed by Ann Arbor, Michigan-based Resource Recycling Systems (RRS), is hosting a webinar Feb. 22 at 3 p.m. to announce its launch as well as review objectives, strategies and goals.
The organization was formed after interested stakeholders in the poly coated paper community got together in fall 2022 to determine a solution for greater collection and end markets of poly coated paper. Its goal is to collaborate with like-minded brands, trade associations and other companies throughout the value chain.
The webinar will include a Q&A session and give further insight into the PCPA’s five main workstreams, which include:
- strong foundation of data to guide strategies;
- broader acceptance by end markets;
- universal design guidance for brands;
- common messaging for outreach/education; and
- upgraded ISRI and mill specifications.
A leadership committee will administer the program plan, while RRS will serve as the management and technical coordinator for the PCPA.
The PCPA Leadership Committee includes:
- Jason Pelz (Carton Council of North America);
- Shannon Moore and Kyle Graves (Kellogg’s);
- Amber Barron and Teo Medellin (Procter & Gamble Co.); and
- Scott Byrne (Sonoco).
PCPA membership is available at all levels. The organization says the workstream committee assignments and program planning will begin in March.
