Pollutec 2018 scheduled in Lyon, France

The upcoming event will host an International Summit for cities, regions driving the circular economy.

Pollutec 2018 will take place Nov. 27-30 at Lyon Eurexpo in Lyon, France. This year’s event marks the 40th year since the launch of the Pollutec brand.

According to a Pollutec news release, it formed in 1978 from an existing water and air event and a waste management event. The event brought together themes that represented main strands of environmental politics developing in France. Today, Pollutec covers 14 major sectors related to the environment and climate, and it promotes cross-disciplinary, integrated strategies for sustainable cities.

Pollutec 2018 will host an International Summit for cities and regions driving the circular economy in partnership with the city of Lyon on Nov. 28. This portion of the show was compiled from real life projects submitted in response to a call for expressions of interest in the spring, according to a Pollutec news release.

During the event, Pollutec plans to highlight the circular economy, seas and coastlines, plastics, digital technology and employment. According to a Pollutec news release, the circular economy will be the topic of many meetings and many of the special events. The issue of plastics will be addressed from various angles, including prevention, substitution, recycling and upgrading. The Sea & Coastline strand will focus on the issue of plastics and the restoration and preservation of fragile ecosystems and will discuss challenges of the blue economy. Also, the growing integration of digital technology in eco-solutions will be a highlight of the digital and environment strand.

In addition to the Employment Space program throughout the four-day event, Employment Day on Nov. 30 will host a series of “job dating” events between students, HR directors and technical directors of companies looking for employees.
