The Italian firm AMUT S.p.A. is championing the success of its plastic recycling machinery at two new facilities. The plants are the Petstar facility in Toluca, Mexico; in France the facility was opened this past summer in Paris by France Plastique Recyclage.
The Mexican facility has an output rate of 3,000 kg per hour of finished product and it is part of an ambitious project amounting to $35 million that Petstar has spent since the first of this year. After the washing process, the material is converted into granules for food applications.
According to AMUT, the Mexican facility is expected to double its production by the end of next year to around 60,000 tons of PET bottles per year.
The company also noted that in FPR opened a large PET recycling facility in September 2009. When fully operational, the plant will be capable to convert 40,000 tons of PET bottles per year into material for the “Bottle-to-Bottle” process, with an hourly output of 4000 kg of finished product.
