Plastics Recycler to Build South Carolina Plant

JN Fibers Inc., a manufacturer of recycled polyester staple fiber products, has announced plans to build a manufacturing plant in Richburg, S.C., that will recycle PET (polyethylene terephthalate) plastics into polyester staple fibers to be used in a range of textile products.

The company, headquartered in Zhejiang, China, says it expects to invest $45 million on the plant. When fully operational, the expansion is expected to generate 318 new jobs.

The new plant will be built in an existing building in Richburg. The company says it plans to renovate the existing building as well as to expand by a total of 600,000 square feet. The JN Fibers plant is expected to begin operations in the third quarter of 2014 and hiring for the new positions is slated for the second quarter of 2014, the company says. 

 

JN Fibers Inc. will operate the factory and market its products under its subsidiary Sun Fibers LLC. 

The Coordinating Council for Economic Development approved a rural infrastructure grant of $800,000 and approved job development credits.
