Recycled Plastic Products, a manufacturer of plastics components located in Bluffdale, Utah, announced it has recently expanded its operations. The expanded facility can now process up to 12 tons of scrap plastics a day, quadrupling its production capabilities.
The company takes in recycled plastics flake from Utah, as well as states throughout the western United States, including Idaho and Wyoming.
The flakes used by the facility include plastics from trashcans, plastic bags, household plastic waste and various industrial generated plastics.
While the company presently recycles the plastics into wheels for new trash cans, the company is looking to expand its end products. One drawback is the flakes result in a finished product that is not as aesthetically pleasing as plastics derived from virgin plastic scrap.Latest from Recycling Today
