Plastics recycler First State Plastics Inc. (FSP), New Castle, Del., is reportedly shopping for space in the Ohio-Michigan border region to locate a second facility.
According to a report in the Toledo Business Journal, FSP has considered proposals from the Ohio Department of Development concerning locations in Toledo and has also been in contact with the State of Michigan regarding sites in Monroe, Mich., about 20 miles north of Toledo.
The company is a recycler of plastic scrap generated at industrial plants, and produces secondary material that can be sold to compounders and molders, according to the news report.
FSP estimates that a new plant in Ohio or Michigan will need to be a 75,000 sq. ft. facility that will require a $575,000 investment if existing space is upgraded. The new location will create 48 jobs averaging a $15 hourly wage.
