PLASTICS adds vice president of trade shows and marketing

Susan Krys has more than 25 years of association and trade show experience.

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), Washington, has announced that Susan Krys will lead the association’s Tradeshows and Marketing department. Susan comes to the association with more than 25 years of association and trade show experience. In this new role, she will be responsible for leading PLASTICS’ trade shows and managing marketing, meetings and initiatives.

“Susan Krys has extensive trade show knowledge and association experience, which makes her an invaluable asset to the PLASTICS team,” says PLASTICS President and CEO Bill Carteaux. “She brings talent and exciting new leadership to our signature trade show, NPE2018: The Plastics Show.” 

Most recently, Krys served as vice president of program development at the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering (ISPE), where she managed the society’s educational conferences, training, sales and events. Prior to her tenure at ISPE, Krys was the senior director of promotions and industry events at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) for eight years. In this role, she oversaw the ACC’s Annual Scientific Session. Before joining ACC, she was the director of exhibit sales and exhibitor marketing for the Telecommunications Industry Association, where she was responsible for a $32 million budget and a staff of 12 sales, marketing and event operations professionals, working on the largest telecommunications networking event in the United States.

 Krys’ experience in event management extends to other industries, such as food marketing, health care, and sports marketing. She has extensive experience in exhibit and sponsorship sales, marketing, education programming, event operations and event team management, PLASTICS says.
