Spartech Corp. has completed ISO 14001 certification at its Spartech Plastics-Greenville, Ohio plant. Five of the company’s 43 manufacturing locations have achieved ISO 14001 designation and the first facility in our Custom Sheet & Rollstock group.
The company's pursuit of ISO 14001 registration complements our existing ISO 9000 certification process and is part of our long-standing commitment to the environment. The environmental certification has increased employee awareness and participation for our environmental, health and safety management systems."
Bradley Buechler, Spartech's chairman, president and CEO, added, "Our environmental goals are focused on improving our operations and reducing operating costs, which is consistent with our business goals. The ability to eliminate waste and improve safety makes a positive impact on our operations and the environment. ISO 14001 certification generates value for customers, shareholders and employees."
Last month the United States Environmental Protection Agency announced that Spartech Corp. would be awarded for its efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle solid wastes.Latest from Recycling Today
