Plastics Are GPEC Topic

Conference in Atlanta looks at plastics recycling advances.

Those interested in the latest research findings concerning plastic recycling and the use of scrap plastic are being invited to attend the GPEC 2005 event, held Feb. 23-25 at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel near Atlanta’s airport.

 

The theme for the GPEC (Global Plastics & Environmental Conference) 2005 event is “Creating Sustainability for the Environment,” and topics covered will include the recycling of several types of plastic.

 

GPEC 2005 opens with a workshop on “Competitive Intelligence Methodology” on Wednesday, Feb. 23, followed by presentations of technical papers throughout the day Thursday, Feb. 24 and in the morning hours of Friday, Feb. 25.

 

Technical papers are being presented on a variety of topics, including construction and consumer goods, packaging and automotive plastics.

 

The show has been organized by the Environmental Division of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), and its sponsors include the American Plastics Council and Atlanta- based recycling firm Recycled Materials Inc.
