The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), based in Washington, has made two additions to its public affairs team.
“I’m proud of the team we’ve assembled at PLASTICS and excited to welcome these talented professionals to our public affairs team,” says Stephanie Strategos Polis, vice president of public affairs and communications at PLASTICS. “Their professional expertise will strengthen our ability to showcase the essential products provided by the hardworking people across our industry and highlight the vital role plastics play in driving innovation, sustainability and economic growth across the country.”
Chiara Matriccino and Allie Richardson have joined PLASTICS as new public affairs team members.
Matriccino joins PLASTICS as manager of communications and digital productions.
A strategic communications leader with a decade of experience, Matriccino has developed and executed digital media campaigns, stakeholder outreach and multimedia storytelling across the federal, nonprofit and corporate sectors. According to the association, she will oversee PLASTICS’ in-house production studio and lead the development of compelling digital content to showcase the value, workforce and innovation across the plastics industry supply chain.
Richardson joins PLASTICS as manager of press and public affairs. She is a South Carolina native and graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and mass communications. Richardson brings experience from Capitol Hill, where she most recently served as press secretary for U.S. Congresswoman Laurel Lee. She is passionate about crafting stories that resonate and driving effective messaging in fast-paced environments, PLASTICS says.
PLASTICS says these hires reflect its commitment to strategic communications and proactive engagement with the public, policymakers and the media that support a strong, innovative and sustainable plastics industry.
