European groups to present plastics recycling webinar

Polymer Comply Europe will provide an update on the EU plastics circular economy agenda.

Brussels-based Polymer Comply Europe (PCE) has scheduled a webinar on the European Union Circular Economy Action Plan. PCE says it is organizing the event in cooperation with the European Plastics Converters (EuPC) and PET Sheet Europe associations.

The webinar will take place Wednesday, June 10, from 11 a.m. to  12:15 p.m. Central European Time (5 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. Eastern Time in the United States).

At the webinar, PCE says it will “introduce the Circular Economy Action Plan (part of the European Green Deal), highlighting the upcoming  challenges for the plastics industry.” Speakers include staff members from the European Commission and from the EuPC.

According to the PCE, the new Circular Economy Action Plan presents measures to:

  • make sustainable products the norm in the EU;
  • empower consumers and public buyers;
  • focus on sectors that use most resources and where the potential for circularity is high, including electronics, batteries and vehicles, packaging and construction and buildings;
  • ensure less waste;
  • make circularity work for people, regions and cities; and
  • lead global efforts on circular economy.

 PCE says among those who can benefit from attending the webinar are:

  • representatives from the plastics value chain;
  • consultants;
  • trade association staff and board members;
  • corporate regulatory affairs managers;
  • government regulators; and
  • other service providers, plus NGOs and concerned academics.

EuPC members can listen in free of charge while other webinar attendees will be charged €100 ($108) per person, plus the value-added tax (VAT). Registration information can be found on this web page
