Pic-A-Part, an auto recycling company based in Indianapolis, has purchased a 20-acre facility to allow the company to significantly increase the number of vehicles it can accept. The new location formerly was a Chrysler foundry.
The new facility will allow the company to significantly increase the number of automobiles it can have on the site, from around 2,500 to 4,500 vehicles, according to the company.
While the company plans on investing a significant amount of money to ensure that the site meets all environmental requirements, some opponents of the yard note that the location is highly visible as drivers enter downtown.
The company opened its first facility in 2007.
