The city of Philadelphia is expanding its single stream residential recycling program. The expansion is expected to begin March 5, and will add an additional 93,000 houses in the city to the 123,000 residents presently taking part in the single stream recycling program.
In announcing the expansion, the city touts that since launching the single stream recycling program Philadelphia has seen its recycling tonnage figures increase by close to 30 percent.
