The Paper Stock Industries has awarded its annual Phil Alpert Award to Crawford Carpenter, former PSI president and an executive at the Recycled Fibers Division of The Newark Group.
In support of the award, Johnny Gold, with The Newark Group, wrote, “I know firsthand how organized this person is. How well he communicates and how tirelessly he works to make sure that every job he works on is completed and completed in the correct manner. On many occasions we have discussed the various issues facing our industry. Not once has he ever refused to get involved and when he gets involved "he gets involved". He does this not to make a name for himself but to make sure that the decision is what is best for the Paper Stock Industry.”
In presenting the award, Ralph Simon, SP Recycling, said that on behalf of the PSI, “I proudly present to you the Phil Albert Award for your leadership, contributions and your personal commitment to the success of ISRI and PSI.”
Past recipients of the award are Johnny Gold, Nini Krever, Stan Litman, Ray Petermeyer and Ralph Simon.
