., Port St. Lucie, Florida, has announced the release of its HTP Organic Oil Solidifier Encapsulator.
According to American Products, the HTP Organic Oil Solidifier Encapsulator is made from peat moss fiber and can be used to clean up petroleum spills. The product can be spread on both solid surfaces and water. It is designed only to soak up petroleum-based substances, and will solidify any type of petroleum spill on waterways, soils and grassy and swampy areas. To clean up the spill the product is designed to be swept up with a broom. The company says the end result will be a dry substance rather than the typical damp clay-like substance from many petroleum spill cleaners.
The company also says a two-cubic-foot bag will solidify up to eight gallons of oil- or petroleum-based chemicals. HTP Organic Oil Solidifier Encapsulator can be used to suppress fuel vapors and put out fires that may result from spills. When incinerated, it produces 3 percent residual ash, which can be landfilled.
