Petcore Europe adds three members

Organization represents the PET plastics industry in Europe.

Petcore Europe, a Brussels-based association representing the PET (polyethylene terephthalate) industry in Europe, has added three new member companies: Klöckner Pentaplast, based in Germany; Starlinger, an equipment company based in Austria; and Procter & Gamble (P&G), a multi-national consumer products company.

“We are delighted to welcome these three new members,” says Patrick Peuch, Petcore Europe’s executive director. “Our association aims to align the whole PET value chain to work together and to speak with one voice. Gaining additional support from three global leaders like Klöckner Pentaplast, Starlinger and P&G in their respective market sectors is therefore a real asset for Petcore Europe.”

Klöckner Pentaplast, which produces rigid plastic film products for primary packaging, operates 18 production sites in 12 countries.

Starlinger & Co. Ges. m.b.H., headquartered in Vienna, manufactures equipment for the plastics and plastics recycling industry. The company’s Recycling Technology division, founded in 2002, is involved in PET and other plastics recycling operations.

P&G, headquartered in Cincinnati, has annual sales of close to $84 billion. It is among the largest consumer products companies in the world and has operations in around 70 countries.

Petcore Europe says its mission is to ensure the PET industry and its associations are aligned to deliver increased value and sustainable growth of the PET value chain; to ensure that PET is positioned and recognized as an environmentally sustainable packaging material; to validate and support innovative packaging solutions from a recycling perspective; and to work with all interested parties to ensure the sustainable growth of PET post-consumer collection and recycling.
