The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection has announced 120 grants for county and municipal recycling programs. The grants total $6.2 million.
On behalf of Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge, Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) Secretary David E. Hess today announced 120 grants, totaling nearly $6.2 million, for county and community recycling efforts in 34 counties.
This is the second round of Recycling Performance Grants announced this year. The DEP announced $5 million in grant money this past spring.
The grants are awarded to local government applicants based on the amount of material they recycle. The deadline to apply for next year’s grant is Sept. 28.
