A construction and demolition debris landfill in Duncan Township, Pa., has been permitted to expand its site, according to a report in the Williamsport Sun-Gazette (Williamsport, Pa.).

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has approved a permit for Phoenix Resources Inc. to construct a 67-acre disposal area at the site it currently operates.

The expansion permit is for a 10-year term, according to the report.

Phoenix is permitted to accept C&D debris only, including wood, plaster, bricks and block, asphalt and concrete.

The permit allows the site to increase its average daily volume from 1,250 tons per day to a maximum of 2,000 tons per day, according to the report.
