The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has approved a permit for Phoenix Resources Inc. to construct a 67-acre disposal area at the site it currently operates.
The expansion permit is for a 10-year term, according to the report.
The permit allows the site to increase its average daily volume from 1,250 tons per day to a maximum of 2,000 tons per day, according to the report.
Phoenix Resources is operated by Waste Management of Pa. Inc.
