Peña's Disposal, a Cutler, Calif.-based recycling company, has announced the launch of Countrywide Shredding, a subsidiary that will provide mobile shredding services to companies and residents in the Central Valley region of California. Carlos Garcia, operations manager for Peña’s, says the launch of Countywide was in response to feedback the company received from its customers and area residents.
Garcia says Countrywide Shredding has been certified by the National Association for Information Destruction (NAID). “It is just another tool for our company,” Garcia says of the certification.
Countywide is using a shredding truck supplied by Shred-Tech, Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.
The service, available throughout Tulare County, will charge customers by the total weight of the documents to be destroyed.
Art Peña, company vice president, says, "Shredding has become essential due to the need to protect private information. Now we can offer shredding, and the customers will know that their paper will be property recycled. With the tough new state mandates, recycling to reduce the waste going in our landfills is even more important."
Peña's Disposal, a family-owned company established in 1949, has a 62,000-square-foot material recovery facility (MRF) in Cutler, where it collects hazardous waste, green waste, electronic scrap and C&D debris and buys back used bottles and cans. The company also provides curbside waste collection in unincorporated areas of California's Tulare and Fresno counties while arranging recycling services for businesses to help them meet new state mandates.
