Pellenc ST, based in France, has announced the delivery of 20 optical sorting machines to Ambiente SpA in San Vitaliano, Italy, for what it says is going to be one of the most advanced material recovery facilities (MRFs) in Europe.
Ambiente is refurbishing its entire Ambiente Ecological Plant in San Vitaliano and completely replacing the existing mechanical equipment.
Pellenc supplied 20 Mistral and Mistral DVI machines for the facility.
Pellenc is represented exclusively in Italy by Beppe Eliantonio, while the service team of three engineers is managed by Massimiliano Montani.
French company Vauché, together with its Italian subsidiary Vauché Bioma Italia Srl, are managing the project integration.
Bruno Rossi, CEO of Ambiente, says, “We decided to select Pellenc ST optical sorting equipment because of their superior sorting technology, the flexibility of their team and their project management skills. Our decision was also motivated by the superior service guarantee offered by the company.”
He adds, “The automation level of the system will make it one of the most advanced in the world.”
“We at Pellenc ST serve over 100 new waste treatment and recycling projects every year, in most regions of the world, and I have to say that this project is really unique,” Jeremie Garbe, director of global sales, Pellenc ST, says. “The customer wanted to achieve the highest possible degree of automation so that he could at the same time improve his materials quality, reduce stress on personnel and minimise its operation costs. It resulted in a design that is probably the most sophisticated line of its kind in Europe.”
The project is scheduled to be completed within the first quarter of 2016 and will provide the region of Naples with a facility that has the capacity to recover 70,000 short tons of recyclables per year.
Pellenc ST is a leading supplier of optical sorting equipment used in recycling facilities. Pellenc ST says its customers operate more than 1,100 machines in more than 40 countries, with customers in Italy operating 120 machines alone.
