Canadian scrap metal processing firm signs up with Bullfrog Power

Peel Scrap Metal Recycling will use renewable energy at two Ontario yards.

Peel Scrap Metal Recycling Ltd., a recycling company headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, has announced that it will use energy provided by Bullfrog Power, a Canada-based green energy provider, at its scrap metal yards in Mississauga and Oakville, Ontario.

“Peel Scrap Metal Recycling Ltd. is proud to be supporting renewable energy with Bullfrog Power,” says Gary Dvorkin, president of the scrap processing company. “By choosing Bullfrog's green energy for our public yards, we are uniquely positioned within our industry in terms of our support of renewable energy and our commitment to a sustainable future.”

Through the agreement, Bullfrog Power's generators will put green electricity onto the grid to match the amount of electricity used by Peel Scrap Metal Recycling's Bullfrog-powered yards.

Bullfrog's electricity comes from a combination of wind and low-impact hydro power sourced from Canadian renewable energy facilities.

SENNEBOGEN 340G telehandler improves the view in Macon County, NC

An elevated cab is one of several features improving operational efficiency at the Macon County Solid Waste Management agency in North Carolina. When it comes to waste management, efficiency, safety and reliability are priorities driving decisions from day one, according to staff members of the Macon County Solid Waste Management Department in western North Carolina. The agency operates a recycling plant in a facility originally designed to bale incoming materials. More recently, the building has undergone significant transformations centered around one machine: a SENNEBOGEN telehandler (telescopic handler).

“We are excited to welcome Peel Scrap Metal Recycling to the Bullfrog-powered community,” says Anthony Santilli, strategic partnerships, Bullfrog Power. “By choosing clean, pollution-free energy, Peel Scrap Metal Recycling is reducing its environmental impact and supporting the growth of green energy projects across Canada.”
